What Am I Eating? KANGAROO!

Once a week, we are having kangaroo sausages.  It is like eating regular sausage but it is really, really lean.  You get two for about 120 calories!  Throw them on the barbie and you have a low cal dinner.


Friday night is PIZZA NIGHT!  We find small pita breads for about 80 calories and then top with veggies and low fat mozzarella.  Each pizza is about 100 calories.


While I was in Chicago, Scab taught be this little trick of having cut up pineapple in the fridge.  When I get hungry, I can have a few squares of pineapple and it tastes like candy.  I love it.

CRA CRA SCALES!

Yes, it is weigh day and the scales went crazy today.  I am not sure what happened, but I weighed myself three times and I am down 11.2 pounds/ 5.1kg for the week!

Obviously, I don't believe I lost that much weight in one week.  It could be alot of things, but for now... I'll take it!

It might mean next week I bounce the other way but I will keep plugging along and keep the goal at 1lb/.5kg.

That gives me a current total of 41 pounds / 19 kilos!

It would be great if I could lose 50 pounds by xmas.

It's ok to have a half ass gym time

It has been three days in a row since I have been to the gym due to hipgate.  So, I decided to go tonight to break the streak.  But, I really, really, really wasn't in the mood.

But I went with the condition that I only had to stay for 10 minutes.

I stayed for 20.
I did elliptical.
My hip was sore but not excruciating.
I got my heart into the burn zone and that was good enough.

I dont need a hip replacement

says the doctor.
I kept telling him - I do!  I am in so much pain.
He laughed.

He says low impact for a bit.
I think I need a hip replacement.

My Hip Popped Again

Got up to do the C25K run this morning and after 3 minutes on the treadmill I felt/heard that awful pop/tear in my hip again.  Lots of pain.

I see the osteo on Wednesday.  I am hoping that it is nothing serious.

Measurements

I will be doing measurements next Sunday.

Slowly but surely

Lost another pound this week.

I am happy with this.  I have officially lost 30 pounds or 14kg.  Actually, 13.9kg but close enough.  I am going to try and hit 15 more pounds by 31/12.  Normally, I wouldn't think I could hit that, but I will have one more week at BL so I am assuming I will take 4 pounds off that week.  Which gives me 1 pound every week.

C25K kicked my ass

So, my couch to 5 k was:
5 min warm up walk
1 min run x9
1.15 min walk x8
5 min cool down

I ran at a 8km/hr pace and it kicked my ass.
I wanted to give up about half way through but I just thought there is nothing you can't do for one minute!

PB of 32 minutes

ok... so I think my best 5k ever was 32 minutes.
I would LOVE to get back to that by my August 5k.

I downloaded the software for my iphone today so I will start tomorrow morning.  Without music!!!  :(

If I could do a 40 minute in time for the Turkey Trot, that would be AWESOME!

Considering every step I take is crazy painful, that would be great.

Couch to 5K

I am going to try the couch to 5k program to try and improve my running time.  Also, it will help coach me while I am outside and not in a gym.

My Ass Hurts

It is not really my ass but kind of my hip.  The osteo says I have pulled a muscle and it frickin hurts!
Walked to day but will stay off of it tomorrow.

Bad Strategy but Down Another Pound

I did well with my goals this week considering fever/cold.  I hate being sick!!!  But, I still did four gym sessions and this morning I got up and attempted to run the "tan".  (Botanical Gardens in Melbourne)

I wanted to see how I would do outside instead of on a treadmill.  According to AFL footie legend, Barry Stoneham... the tan is 3.84km.  But it is not flat.  The top and bottom are pretty even but one side is a slow decline and then the short side is a very big incline.

My strategy was to run up the big incline and that I would run it at the end and be done.  An adrenaline surge.

The good news is that I made it all the way around doing my little jog/shuffle.
The more good news is that I made it half way up the hill.
The best news is that I did my little jog/shuffle for 29 minutes.

The bad news is that I only made it half way up the hill.

I am still happy with that.
Next time I try I will start with the hill as it will literally be all downhill after that.

And, lost .4kg or .9lbs this week.  Let's just round it up to a pound.  :)

Being Sick Sucks

I am not sure if it is Starve a Cold and Feed a Fever or Feed a Cold and Starve a Fever.  Either way, I always want to eat.

I have been back in AUS for 5 days and ended up with an awful cold/fever.

Woke up yesterday with sore throat but still went to gym.  Felt achy and was fully sick by mid day.  I took tons of pills and broke the fever but skipped the gym this morning.   Felt much better by this arvo so went to the gym for a little bit of cardio tonight.

Therefore, have been to the gym 5 days in a row.

My sister is thinner than she thinks

because her scale sucks.  I knew her scale was wrong.  Or.. the Pookies scale is just awesome.  Anyway, since this is where I am living, we will go by Pookie numbers.

Have lost another 4.92 pounds or 2.23 kg.  Get jiggy bitches!!!!!

I have also measured my neck, arm, thigh and calf so I will have those numbers at the start of each month.

Arrived Yesterday, Joined the Gym Today

I arrived yesterday and tried to join the gym yesterday afternoon.  I needed to wait until the morning which I did and got my workout in.

I will also workout in the CBD.

I did my walk on the treadmill at level 15.  Come on.

AUSSIE GOALS

I have my goals for Australia next week so that I can hit the ground running.  Literally.  :)

1 - Get my 5k time down into the 40s.
2 - Work off 3500 in one week.

I will need some energy after a week of downtime in Chicago and my two days of plane travel.

All By Myself

Today I went to the gym and I knew I needed to do a big cardio so I decided to a treading class.  Doing it in general is a big workout but it is so much more difficult when you are not surrounded by your friends yelling at you to make your goal.

Not fun.

I did make my goal.

For the girls who are treading, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen for your first 5 minutes.  The song is over 4 so it keeps you going but everytime he sings Born To Run, you want to kick it up.

I also meant to weight myself to see how off my sister's scale is but I forgot.

Weigh in

I did weigh in today with a gain actually, but I think this is the fact that my sisters scale is different than the Biggest Loser scale.  I am not worried as I had a good week.
