Sunday Weigh In
Same same which is great because Andrew brought home ribs for dinner on Friday night. Our plan is to have a lot of soup this week for dinner.
I am really proud of keeping to my morning walking habit with Sugar.
Also my food tracking habit is going really well. I have tracked 148 days in a row!!!!

Pouring!
A weekend of bad weather here in Melbourne but that didn't stop me from my time around the Tan this morning. But I am still sick and my clothes were just dripping by the time I got around the track. It was raining so hard at one point I was concerned my headphones would short out!
But I made it.

Can you say you are managing your weight with three desserts in a day?
I went to lunch with a collegue today and we went for yum cha. Since doing this plan, I am pretty good - nothing fried, a few dumplings and I am pretty full. EXCEPT I still can't resist the egg custard bun for dessert. One order has three dumplings. There were many times that I ate all three. I ALWAYS had at least two.
Well...today, I had one. Steve had one. And I actually left one. UNHEARD OF!
So, I took a picture to show everyone how good I am.
HELLO!
I still had one!
But that wasn't the worst of it.
At my next coffee meeting, I had a HUGE ANZAC biscuit. (Americans - this is a sugary oatmeal cookie.) HUGE
Dessert number two in two hours! What was I thinking.
It was so much sugar that I almost vomited at the gym.
Lastly, I came home and had a hot chocolate for dessert.
Seriously?
THIS IS MY WEIGHT MANAGEMENT????

Sugar is sooooo mad
On the last Wednesday of each month, Araza sponsors a Run Around the Tan. This is what happens:
- I leave work a tad early
- Go home and get my work out gear on and grab the dog
- Fill up my trunk with refreshing beverages
- Go to the Tan and walk/run or whatever with the puppy
- Then from 5:30 - 6:30, Sugar and I wait at the Pillars so that Araza team members can drop off their stuff and run/walk. Sugar and I watch all the backpacks, etc while everyone else does the Tan.
We started this in January.
It was sunny.
It was warm.
Super relaxing.
Last month we had the WARMEST April and everyone was still in shorts. It was dark but beautiful.
Last night was dark, dark, dark and rainy, rainy, rainy.
But if it ain't raining, you ain't training.
4.5 showed up - Toni, Ben, Vicki, me and Sugar.
Vicki took this stunning picture of Melbourne from the Tan - beautiful.
Sugar does NOT like cold and rain so she was an extremely unhappy puppy. She wouldn't snuggle with me the rest of the night.

Sunday Weigh In
I am up just a smidge this week :) which isn't surprising considering I have gone through over a bottle of honey - pure sugar, in my tea in an effort to sooth my throat. I am seeing a doctor tomorrow so hopefully that puts an end to this stupid cough and soreness.
Also, the Assaraf program says that many people gain weight the first two weeks - that is a bunch of bull but I'll go with the flow.

I just don't Fit Bit
This is my day yesterday -
- I did the hill at the Tan
- I took the dog for a long walk
- I power walked from the Astor to the Jam Factory (because Titanic ran long and WTF was starting at 6:50pm)
Plus normal activity.
AND...my steps only got to 9,121. (sorry - super blurry)
I am just not a walker.

Funny Friday
Interesting thought for the week. It is not the intensity of your workout but the habit of working out itself when it comes to long term changes. I completely agree with that. Obviously, a strong workout has immediate effects on calorie burn and changing your body. But, it is the consistency of working out over the long period that makes the positive change in your life.
I have got out of the workout habit and am getting back in. Twenty minutes every morning plus gym time with my trainer.

Well...it doesn't have too many calories
One of my team members gave me a voo doo recipe for my throat tonight in an effort to get better. It was VILE but not too many calories. :)
Here it is:
She gave me a bag of leave and instructed to only use TWO LEAVES.
Microwave for 20 seconds and drink.
With your nose plugged as it is disgusting.
I have been promised no cough tomorrow.

You end up with a tiny bit of leaf juice.
Add a teaspoon of honey.
Add juice of half a lemon.

my weight workout
The past three weeks I have been remiss in my workouts with Anita. Not only have I been incredibly ill, but I also had a few travel days. And, Anita had finals for school. And I had the knee gel thing.
It is so hard to build up your muscle with weights but after only three short weeks, I was almost back to the beginning. This was a hard week but I got all three sessions in and I am very sore.
My goal was to get a boy pushup by June.
I know it isn't going to happen but just need to keep going to the gym.

Motivation Monday
I chose today's motivation because Asaraf said something very interesting last week. On the one hand, words are just words, but there is something about self talk and the words we use. I agree with that.
We call it "weight loss" but it should be "weight release". Why?
Everything in our conditioning is set to find the things we lose. I don't want to find this weight again!!!

Sunday Weigh In
Due to my travels, last week was the first time I have skipped a weigh in, in a long time. Maybe since I started this whole thing? But it was back on today and I FEEL light and I FEEL strong. I weighed in four pounds lighter than a few weeks ago! I had french food last night!!! But, no dessert. I have been having a lot of soup now that the weather is getting cooler. I think I will go to the store and get more soup options. (I made lentil and split pea this week - delicious.)
Also, I am very intrigued about this Assaraf program and if it is going to help me. If nothing else, it does keep you mindful.
So YEA!!!! Down four pounds.

What season is it?
Mid May and it is still like we are in early March! I am loving this weather!
Even though my breathing is still labored, I just couldn't sit inside today and got out to take Sugar around Albert Park Lake. The day was glorious!
On a separate note the Assaraf program is going slow. I am suppose to listen every day but I am really only finding time on the weekends. I will try every day going forward.
Today we had to do three short term goals - things that could be accomplished in 30 days.
1 - # of pounds that I will lose - Goal is 4 pounds. I can lose 4 pounds in 4 weeks.
2 - Emotional goal - Goal is to be happy and energised by being on this program and being successful.
3 - Skill goal - I am not 100% sure what he meant, but I have put that I will do push ups 3 times every week.

Bronchitis
So, I have bronchitis. Absolutely no working out his week but eating pretty well. I am not even looking at the scale. I am just trying to feel better. I haven't been able to take a full breath in over a week!
I'm back to the gym on Monday.
Possibly walking the Tan on Saturday.

This is what a night at the ballpark does to your diet....

1 cheeseburger
1 lemonade with no lemon and 8 pounds of sugar
peanuts
cracker jack
popcorn (which tasted awful so at least I threw it out before eating the whole thing)
a few of my moms nacho chips without cheese - I had to draw a line
a few bites of my moms vanilla ice cream
Still sick so living off of hot water with lemon and honey.
Not looking forward to the scale at all!!!
