I was at breakfast with this seminar group and they all decide to get thick chocolate shakes for breakfast.

Firstly, I am really happy because it didn't even sound good to me.  That is amazing because ice cream always sounds good to me!!! :)  (Australians also put ice cream on pancakes which I think is gross.  Just not interested at all.)

Second, I had a very healthy poached eggs with avo so that made me happy.

But, I didn't make all good decisions during this two days.  I wish all my food choices were perfect, but they weren't.  So on the one hand, I think I should have just had the shake.  But on the other, I am glad as small things do add up.

Healthy cities

I was on the Gold Coast last week and got up and went for a walk.  It was really eye opening to be in such a healthy city.


1 - a young guy ran past me with his surf board in his hand and a smile on his face.  He couldn't wait to get out in the ocean and EXERCISE!  Now, I am sure he doesn't feel like surfing is exercise.  For him it is a fun sport.  But it burns a lot of calories and is great for your core!

2 - There were tons of people walking the beach of all ages.

3 - They actually had gym equipment as part of the trail that you could use and look out over the ocean.  That is fantastic!!!  Here is the stair stepper just waiting to be used.

BRILLIANT advice

I've mentioned that I am listening to the Minimalists and it is painful because they ramble guy talk for an hour but...I get one or two morsels that really stay with me.

The one that I know is true but don't want to give up is... if you are going to not be able to control yourself in a Home Depot, then don't go in to a Home Depot.

When I came back from fat camp I moved to Point Cook and took temptation away.

Now, I know when I travel I will go to Qantas Club and eat 6 cookies before the flight.  Why don't I get rid of the Club membership?

I know when I go to Gitan for Friday drinks, I will eat frites and drink champagne.  Why go?

If I can't control myself, why am I putting myself in these situations????
I need to start giving up the bad.

How do I get my Sunday's back?

I looked out the window on Sunday and saw that the MS 5K was on.  I had run this race a few years ago with Lisa and Ian.  http://www.iwantcandy88.com/2015/05/ms-5k.html




It made me wonder what happened to my Sunday 5ks?
Or my Sunday triathalons?
Or my Sunday exercise in general??????

So, I am putting together an exercise plan for arthritis.  It sounds like walking plus icing and my medication is a good way to start.  My goal is 2km min a day.
