A distinct lack of maturity

If you know me at all, you understand that spring carnival, or race season is a very fun time for me. And I buy my dresses while in the USA. I bought them all in August with the mental understanding that I would be at a minimum, staying my same weight, but hopefully...losing a bit.

So, as I have teeter tottered back and forth at this awful weight, I just kept looking at my dresses, HOPING that they would fit and actually doing NOTHING to try and make them fit. (Like eat less and exercise more.)

Tomorrow is Guineas and my fingers were crossed as I tried on the size 14! I am so happy to report that if I don't breath AT ALL, I think my dress tomorrow will work just fine.  (Pleats don't lay flat on my bum but I can live with that.)

Fitbit Fat part 2

I have offiically stopped wearing my fitbit. I absolutely was getting fitbit fat. After comparing calories on Saturday, I realised it was doing my head in and I just need to go back to calories in and calories out.

So how do I get back to few in and more out?
Firstly, back to basics. For those that are MFP friends, make sure that I am tracking, please. I will be back on starting today! And I should be wearing my Polar every time I work out. Now I can focus on other strategies.

Fitbit vs Polar

Well, it really is no contest. After religiously wearing my Fitbit, I actually gained weight! It was my own fault. I know the calorie count on the Fitbit was not correct. Ridiculous, actually. But I WANTED to believe that I was burning 3000-4000 calories every day. I wanted to have treats again. So, I believed and have been bad.

I also knew that it wasn't counting enough calories during my tough workouts as it really is looking at movement, not heart rate. So, I was burning too many during rest periods and not enough during active periods. I wore both today and this was the result:

My fitbit had been on my wrist all night.
I put my Polar on at 8:11 before my workout.

Starting calorie burn -
Fitbit - 584
Polar - 0

After my workout -
Fitbit - 1087
Polar -641

The Fitbit didn't give me enough love and shorted me almost 100 calories.
So, do I keep it on? It does make me more aware but so does my Polar.
I have one Fitbit friend, Steve, and he does nudge me a lot.
I can't decide. Maybe I just need a cuter Polar. :)

Funny Friday

I haven't tried a cupcake yet but maybe this would help.

I am not making this up.

I just took a client for a tea. At this particular cafe, you get a small piece of biscotti. Per normal, I ate mine right away. My client did not. As we are leaving the cafe, I notice that he did not eat his biscotti and I actually thought to myself, "oh, yum, an extra treat!"

I was going to eat off of someone else's plate!
I then realised what I was thinking and freaked out. And took this picture.
Is this what it has come to? Eating biscotti bits off of stranger's saucers?
I need to get a grip.
