Sunday Weight In

Another okay week. I'm still struggling with lunches and client time but I lost 1.6 pounds for a total weight of 230.6.  The opportunity to be back in the 220s again next week is so exciting AND it is a new month AND I am feeling confident.

I haven't been in the 220s since April!

I'm off to put a schedule together.....Let's go!

Lots of September Goals

I'll weigh myself tomorrow as part of my normal Sunday weigh in. On Monday, I'll do measurements as it is the first day of the month. I am curious if the weight circuit I have been doing will show a difference in measurements.

So what are the things I can do differently in September.  In general, I could be a little better with my exercise, but I am ok.
 - weight circuit 2-3x per week
 - cardio 2-3x per week
 - joined a tennis comp/lesson one day a week
 - joined golf lessons one day a week
 - am walking and doing natural activity

What needs to change is my diet. I'm eating too many calories. I am not tracking. I have been saying this for over a year.

For this week, my goal is going to be to write out a menu, prep, shop and follow it.

Set weekly targets and review This Week
Start Tennis 25-Aug-14
Start Golf 7-Sep-14
Try a zumba youtube 1-Sep-14
Go back to yoga 16-Sep-14
Use the fitbit 16-Sep-14
Stay true to the 1200 calories Every Day
Track, track, track Every Day
Prep and buy groceries Weekly

THREE YEARS!

WOW!!!!! It has been three years this week since I first went to fat camp. While the past year of plateau has been a struggle, I am very proud of my accomplishment. I have successfully kept off 40 pounds and am continuing to try new options to be the best me! Thanks to everyone and their continued support. It is so appreciated. I am positive that this year has me back to a weight loss win!

Relegated!

Yesterday, I started tennis again. Tennis is probably the only sport that I LOVE playing. I started when I was 13. I wast taking serious lessons by the time I was 14 and made the high school team. I spent my summers playing every day and went to tennis camps.

After high school, I completely dropped it and lost a lot of technique and gained a lot of weight. So it is just difficult to make shots that you can't run to and I wasn't practicing.

When I moved to Australia, I started lessons again. I am not very talented but I can hit on a court with some confidence. So I was excited when I called last week to start playing again. It is just a fun way to burn calories. I show up on the court and after hitting for a few minutes, the coach sends me back to the BEGINNERS lesson to "brush up on fundamentals!" It is a good thing I don't have a lot of sports ego because that was pretty harsh!

Next week I'll wear my tennis skirt. I am sure I'll be back to intermediates.

Sunday Weigh In

Why do we have an evil instrument called a scale? And, I am asking this on a GOOD day. I lost 2.8pounds or 1.3 kg. But, I know I wasn't great this week, so does that mean next week is going to be bad? I had a FANTASTIC loss this morning and I am already worrying about what that means for next week!!!

Lost 2.8 - be happy.

Interestingly, I have stayed at the same measurements for over 16 months. I am going to do them tomorrow as it is the first of the month. I am wondering if the weights/intervals will have had any impact. ????

I'm not getting thinner, I'm getting taller

Saw Merilyn today for the first time in several months and she commented that I was looking thinner. This made me laugh because I am still 16 pounds off my thinnest from last year. But she isn't the only one who has said this. As I looked in the mirror, I noticed that my posture is getting a bit better. I can only attribute that to my weighs/intervals training. I mean, all that planking has to be good for something, right? This was the incentive to keep up the interval training.

Back into a routine

Routine is so important for success. I am finally back into a schedule even though I am still jetlagged. More importantly, I am doing my weight program again. I don't think I have ever mentioned that I really struggle to do a lunge. Does anyone else have problems doing them? I literally fall over. I thought it was just me and then I found information on the net that says they are one of the absolute best exercises, so I will keep doing them even if I can only do a few.

(excerpt)
Lunges are one of the best (and most hated) exercise for the lower body. They're one of the best because they work multiple muscles, including the hamstrings, glutes, quads and calves. They're one of the most hated because the split stance adds instability and increases the load on each leg, forcing them to work more independently.

I just love Neil Patrick Harris.  Mom and I actually ate next to him while in Vegas a few months back.

I want to be AWESOME!

Sunday Weigh In

Good or bad?
I went on holiday and ate tons of crap and drank many, many, many old fashions.
I worked out at least every other day.
I stayed the exact same weight.

This could only happen to me

I wore my new fitbit for exactly 24 hours and as I was out running errands, I looked down and...nothing. It was gone. It fell off my wrist.

No more fitbit.

when at first you don't succeed...

I didn't like the Jawbone, so I have now purchased the Fitbit. First off, it is SO MUCH more comfortable than the Jawbone so that makes me happy. I have loaded the application and I am all set. Add me to your friends list if you have one.

The device will:
Track steps, distance, calories burned and active minutes.
It has a little LED that shows your progress throughout the day.
Monitors sleep and wakes you up with a silent alarm.  (????)

Let's see if tracking steps makes a difference.

More Treats!

I was recently reading a story and it mentioned non caloric treats.  Treats that you give yourself on a regular basis that don't have any calories. So, I was thinking of some things and it was really difficult to come up with a list.  (Having zero or little cost is also a major win but not necessary.)  Here is a list of a few things I thought of...

-Watching a movie that I have seen a million times
-Going to a Packer or Badger game
-Jewelry
-Making my hot boyfriend strut around in a Favre jersey (if I had a hot boyfriend)
-I still love the firefighter giving me a Tiffany box but I need to change the goal since I am not running anymore. How about when I hit ONEderland? (Technically, I would get the charm when I weighed 192.8.)  Hmmm.... this is a really good non caloric treat.

This is a very difficult thing for me.  Treats = food.  Really, treats = desserts.

I need to think about this more and reward myself more.

Weigh In

I am very proud to say I lost 1.5 pounds this week and went to the gym every day. And for the first time, I have kept to a weights training schedule! I have hit the beginners goal in 4 of the 6 areas. I am behind on squats and lunges. Lunges have always been really difficult for me - I think it is a balance thing.

While I was doing my lunges, the gym manager came in and said, "Victoria, I know they are hard but they are great for you! They'll give you a JLo butt!"  I had to laugh. Do I want a JLo butt? I want LESS butt, not a round butt!

Next weigh in day is my birthday. While I am a little bummed as my goal was to be to 199 by then and I am nowhere near that, I am happy that I am back on the ball.

You have 10 days to pre-order your Vessyl

I am a little obsessed -  https://www.myvessyl.com?referral_token=eo4cIlObFZBLt9ZKvCmWQA

Tim sent me a link to this cup about a month ago. You have to take a look. It is a cup that you can put anything into.  You can drink a beer, cocktail, smoothie, shake, juice - ANYTHING! And it will give you a caloric and nutritional breakdown and send it to your phone!

Is that the coolest thing you have ever heard of? YES!

What a great way to track your drinking calories (which you aren't suppose to be doing anyway!) It will really stop you from having a second or third whiskey old fashion!

They don't come out until 2015 but you need to order now for the half price amount.  Please use the link above if you are interested as I get a referral.

SO COOL!!!
