Small daily goals

Here are my small daily goals charts that I am hanging in the bathroom because I have to look in the mirror before I leave the house every day!  There are three little things:

1 - 1 push up every day.
My reminders on the chart are that push ups improve posture, improve heart health, prevent lower back injury, activate nearly every muscle in the body, increase strength.
I only have to do one.  But if I am there, I will just do what I can do and write them down.

2 - drink a glass of water every morning
This fires up metabolism, flushes toxins, hydrates, fuels the brain and cleanses the colon.
I am keeping a full glass next to my bed AND a water bottle in the bathroom

3 - track my kms every day/every week.
I am not sure where I am on my tracking.  I have the 5km in a few weeks and the half marathon in October!!!!

7.8km no issues

At fat camp, one of the big eye openers is that I am pretty measured in any activity that I do and then all at once, you are doing 4-8 hours of exercise a day.  Walking, running, lifting....everything.  I just don't challenge myself every day.

Particularly, I am being very kind to my knees.
I am at 1km a week ish. I did the Tan last week at 4km
Well Ant asked me if I wanted to walk home last week and I thought, sure - that will put me at 5km.
With the construction on St Kilda Rd and the Ant's poor sense of direction, we did about 8km.  That was a good walk.

I was excited to arrive home!


It was a reminder that one day a week to try and push my heart rate without doing damage to my knees is possible!  I can do it!

Sunday Weigh In

EEEEK!
After three really high days, it is no surprise that the scale AND Happy Scale were both crying!  Happy Scale was not happy!  I just don't want to talk about it.  I made a series of small attainable goals for today and tomorrow.  I just need to concentrate on the day to day and not worry about the big picture. 

I had so many events including lunch at Mrs Parmas on Friday.  I got the eggplant parma with mexican toppings.  It was so good. I only ate half but was just trying to figure out all the calories.  Then I had a dinner that night!  Too much entertaining.  Not enough exercising!!!!!

Advice from the coach

Here are just a few notes that have been really interesting to me from the new weight coach.

1 - I am going to prioritise sleep.  And I will set goals. I have already started doing this and it has been great.

2 - Don't go to restaurants where I will set myself up for failure.  Pick places with good options.

3 - At the restaurant, look at the dessert menu first and decide... champagne OR dessert.  NOT BOTH.

4 - Bring a food scale to work and start weighing out my lunches so I can be more accurate.

I get to talk to Heather twice a month and I wish it was more.

Please don't eat next to me on PT!

Everyone is pretty wiped out after a day at work.  And your blood sugar is low.  And you are hungry.  Which is why I cringe when someone sits next to me with food.  Yes, McDonalds is the worst. But any food is bad.  I am STARVING! I don't want to smell your food or see you eat your food.  I am tired and hungry!

Sunday Weigh In

Good news is that I am feeling much better.
And I am trying to stay the same weight for one more week.
And, that seems to be working.
Same weight as last week.
Also am getting a lot more rest which feels great - my goal is to be in bed by 9:00 and asleep by 10:00 tonight!

Sunday Weigh In

I am up a pound but I am really starting to look at weight a whole different way with Happy Scale.

Firstly, Mary and Pat leave tomorrow so I made it through three weeks of HEAVY HEAVY socialising to be up one pound.  Come on - that is a win.  And, I am so sick.  My throat feels like there are nails everytime I swallow so I am just eating anything that feels good.  I want my health back...I will be so grateful.  I am maintaining which I FINALLY get to have a talk to Heather about on Thursday.  SO, all good.
