I am trying very hard not to be completely bummed out but...a loss of 7.3 pounds for 3.5 weeks is pretty slow. Geesh.
It is a tough pill to swallow.
Sharon, the trainer says I am holding an enormous amount of water as I am at .39 of body water and .40 is see your doctor!
So....better than gaining 7.3 - right?
Now I have two weeks of celebrating? How is that going to work?????

Early start
Not getting to the top of stop sign is two fold; one is that it is so freakin hot I just can't move. The second is kind of the same, because I am slower, I run out of time as you need to do it in two hours before the vans come back down.
In an effort to combat this, I got up at 5:15 and started the hike while it was still dark!
The awesome news?
I took 40 minutes off of my mini time! I cruised the path. That was great!
The bad news?
I still couldn't make it up? My left ankle and knee were really screwed up.
So, I am leaving without making it to the top. Sucky.

Hiking angel
As you have read, I have been struggling with Stop Sign and I just can't get this walk in. Today I stopped at about 2.5 miles and thought...I just can't go anymore. When out of the bush came one of the hike guides with a cool lavender wash cloth! It was a little miracle! It helped enough that I could make it to mini. Thank goodness! Temp 111* today.

Sunday Weigh In
I am actually going to officially weight out on Wednesday morning which is my last day. I mine as well get the most out of each day.
But...the scale looked very close to last weeks weight. REALLY????

OUCH!!!
In all the days that I have hiked here in the desert I have escaped from any real issues. Today, I felt the smallest tinge and then extraordinary pain. I don't know if I was stung or bitten but some little crappy thing got my ankle and it was absolutely ridiculously painful. I actually stuck my dirty hand in my clean water for an ice cube to try and take away some of the sting.
The pain lasted about 4 hours but subsided after that.
The guides thought I would be ok and I am but geesh...that hurt!

thumbs up for laziness
No matter how great an opportunity Movara is (and it is amazing to take 3.5 weeks off and put yourself first) there is no way you can do this program day after day and not burn out. It is just difficult to get up and do the same workouts everyday.
This morning was one of those mornings. I simply could not get up and do my hike. I was tired and just plain crabby. Also, I have pulled a muscle while in treading yesterday while running. YES! I ran! It felt great but I am all or nothing so of course, I started running a 10 minute mile which is CRAZY fast for me. So, after not running for 2 years, I started running at an insane pace for me and pulled a muscle. Annoying. (Good news - is my knees are FINE today. Not great. But FINE.)
I had a delicious breakfast:
- half of a chocolate PB smoothie
- 1/2 cup egg mixture
- 2 pieces turkey bacon
- 2 tbs avocado
This really perked me up.
I got in the car and went to Snow Canyon for a walk. Not up to stop sign but for a good walk and got energised. On it!

Nutrition - WOW!
Bentley is a modern hippy. There is no other way to describe him. He is all about the earth, plant based eating and absolutely no chemicals. Which is not why people come here. We want a magic formula to get us through the day to lose weight. We don't actually want to be healthy, do we?
He is really opening my eyes on how to treat my body.
A few things that came out of his nutrition lecture today were:
- your body can heal
- we live with sickcare, not healthcare
- love yourself
- why aren't we willing to be good to ourselves until it costs us? (example, how much would you pay to not have heart surgery but you wont eat better for your heart until something happens????)
- when making a food choice, ask yourself, "is this harmonsing with my desired future lifestyle?"
He is a big believer in the site www.nutritionfacts.org which encouraged plant based living.

mornings set the tone for the day
I started my day out but...not making it to stop sign AGAIN. Two and a half weeks and I still havent been to the top.
Then upon return was feeling a bit blagh so I tried something new for breakfast and I hate change. But went with the muffin and it was delicious and really sweet. I don't think I could make it in AUS because we don't applesauce and our ovens are weird. But it was delicious and dense.

a new alarm clock
I had about 30 minutes before dinner tonight and was wiped out. Fell asleep and would have slept through dinner but my phone started buzzing with a siren. Turns out a major storm is hitting the desert mountains and it is a good thing, otherwise I would have missed dinner! :)
