The nutritionist at fat camp gave us this recipe and I have been dying to try because it is SO PACKED with vitamins it is crazy. And while it is fruit packed, it is also full of spinach/kale - whatever green you want.
But if you LOVE vanilla/pineapple/mango type smoothie it is really good and 700-900 of your daily vitamins!!
1 - fill the blender up with spinach - an entire bag! Add two cups of water and get the spinach really smooth so that it is a green smoothie but with none of the stringy stuff.
2 - Add a banana, an orange, a bit of fat (I did 1/2 avo), 1 scoop plant based organic vanilla flavored protein powder.
3 - Fill to the top with frozen tropical fruit like pineapple and mango.
It looks like it will be a green smoothie with a veggie taste but it tasted like vanilla and fruit.
I drank about half the blender and put the rest in the fridge. It is suppose to last up to three days.
It was a mess but if it keeps me healthy - all is forgiven. :)

Lisa popped over for a bit and brought POTATO CHIPS!!!!!!
I completely resisted. I am really proud of myself.

Sunday Weigh In
I lost a pound.
The same pound I have lost several times in the past two months.
How am I going to break this cycle? Move back to Pt Coo????
I do feel like a success with my diet is in direct correlation to my social schedule.
My new PT feels like he can get my knee right.
I'm just frustrated.

Olympic Motivation - Jesse Owens
James Cleveland "Jesse" Owens was an American track and field athlete and four-time Olympic gold medalist in the 1936 Games.
Owens specialized in the sprints and the long jump and was recognized in his lifetime as "perhaps the greatest and most famous athlete in track and field history". His achievement of setting three world records and tying another in less than an hour at the 1935 Big Ten track meet in Ann Arbor, Michigan, has been called "the greatest 45 minutes ever in sport" and has never been equalled. At the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany, Owens achieved international fame by winning four gold medals: 100 meters, 200 meters, long jump, and 4 × 100 meter relay. He was the most successful athlete at the Games and, as a black man, was credited with "single-handedly crushing Hitler's myth of Aryan supremacy", although he "wasn't invited to the White House to shake hands with the President, either".
The Jesse Owens Award is USA Track and Field's highest accolade for the year's best track and field athlete. Owens was ranked by ESPN as the sixth greatest North American athlete of the twentieth century and the highest-ranked in his sport. In 1999 he was on the six man shortlist for the BBC's Sports Personality of the Century.

Olympic Motivation - Jamacian Bobsled Team
The team, consisting of Devon Harris, Dudley Stokes, Michael White, Freddy Powell, and last minute replacement Chris Stokes, debuted at the 1988 Winter Olympicsin Calgary, Alberta. The team was coached by Howard Siler, an Olympic bobsledder for the United States in 1972 and 1980.[3] They quickly became very popular, largely because of their status as the ultimate 'underdog' story of the games. Alongside the novelty of a tropical country competing in a cold-weather sport, the team had very little experience going down a bobsled track, and borrowed spare sleds from other countries to compete. In a show of sporting camaraderie across national boundaries, other bobsledders were quick to give them guidance and support. They did not officially finish after losing control of the sled and crashing during one of their qualifiers.[4] The movie Cool Runnings is loosely based on their experience at the 1988 games.

Olympic Motivation - Abebe Bikila
Abebe Bikila was an Ethiopian double Olympic marathon champion. He won the marathon at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome while running barefoot, setting a world record. At the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Abebe was the first athlete to successfully defend an Olympic marathon title, breaking his own world record in the process.
Abebe was born on August 7, 1932, and coincided with the 1932 Los Angeles Olympic Marathon.
In July 1960, Abebe won his first marathon in Addis Ababa. A month later he won again in Addis Ababa with a time of 2:21:23, which was faster than the existing Olympic record held by Emil Zátopek. In Rome, Abebe Bikila purchased new running shoes, but they did not fit well and gave him blisters. He consequently decided to run barefoot instead and won the race.

Olympic Motivation - Tommie Smith and John Carlos
The 1968 Olympics Human Rights Salute was a political demonstration conducted by Tommie Smith and John Carlos during their medal ceremonyon October 16, 1968, at the Mexico City Summer Olympics. After Smith and Carlos won gold and bronze medals, respectively, in the 200-meter running event, they turned on the podium to face their flags, and to hear the American national anthem. Each athlete raised a black gloved fist and kept them raised until the anthem had finished. In addition, Smith, Carlos, and Australian silver medalist, Peter Norman, all wore human rights badges on their jackets. In his autobiography, Silent Gesture, Smith stated that the gesture was not a "Black Power" salute, but a "human rights salute". The event is regarded as one of the most overtly political statements in the history of the modern olympics.

Sunday Weigh In
The only thing that made the weigh in easier today was that I was on the phone with my sister for moral support. 260. Drat. But of course, I knew it. I ate and DRANK terribly this week.
It was bad.
So...tomorrow I am seeing the new physio who will hopefully help me get started to a path of rehabilitation with my knee.
I am starting calls with Utah or alternative.
I have planned some super health meals.
I want it all to be easy.

Olympic Motivation - Usain Bolt
How great is this picture - decided to use for Funny Friday. :)
Usain Bolt is a Jamaican sprinter. He is the first person to hold both the 100 and 200 meter 200 meter world records. He also holds the world record as a part of the 4x100 relay. He is the reigning Olympic champion in these three events. Due to his dominance and achievements in sprint competition, he is widely considered to be the greatest sprinter of all time.
An eight-time Olympic gold medalist, Bolt won the 100 m, 200 m and 4 × 100 m relay at three consecutive Olympic Games, although he subsequently forfeited one of the gold medals (as well as the world record set therein) nine years after the fact due to a teammate's disqualification for doping offences. He gained worldwide popularity for his double sprint victory at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in world record times. Bolt is the only sprinter to win 100 and 200 m titles at three consecutive Olympics (2008, 2012 and 2016); this is a feat referred to as the "triple double" that will be very difficult for anyone to duplicate.
An eleven-time World Champion,he is the most successful athlete of the World Championships and was the first athlete to win three titles in both the 100 m and 200 m at the competition.
His achievements as a sprinter have earned him the media nickname "Lightning Bolt".

Olympic Motivation - Karoly Takacs
Károly Takács was the first shooter to win two Olympic gold medals in the 25 meter rapid fire pistol event, both with his left hand after his right hand was seriously injured. He is the third known physically disabled athlete to have competed in the Olympic Games.
Takács was born in Budapest and joined the Hungarian Army. By 1936, he was a world-class pistol shooter, but he was denied a place in the Hungarian shooting team for the 1936 summer game on the grounds that he was a sergeant, and only commissioned officers were allowed to compete. This prohibition was lifted in Hungary after the Berlin Games, and Takács had expectations of success at the 1940 summer games, scheduled to be held in Tokyo.
During army training in 1938, his right hand was badly injured when a faulty grenade exploded. Takács was determined to continue his shooting career, and switched to shooting with his left hand. He practiced in secret, surprising his countrymen when he won the Hungarian national pistol shooting championship in the spring of 1939. The Olympic Games scheduled for 1940 and 1944 were canceled due to WWII , but Takács surprised the world by winning the gold medal t the 1948 games, aged 38, beating the favourite, Argentine Carlos Enrique Diaz Aeenz Valiente who was the reigning world champion, who had approached him before the event and had asked him what was he doing there (hearing about his accident. His reply was that he was there to learn, setting a world record. Valiente later congratulated saying you have learned enough.
He won a second gold medal in the same event at the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki, after the match Valiente congratulated him again and said "you have learned more than enough now it's time to teach me".

Olympic Motivation - Derek Redmond
Derek Anthony Redmond was a sprinter and Olympic athlete. During his career, he held the British record for the 400 meter sprint, and won gold medals in the 4x400 meter relay at the World Championships and European Championships.
But he is best know for his run in the 1992 Olympic games in Barcelona. He tore his hamstring in the 400 meter semi-final but continued the race limping and, with assistance from his father, managed to complete a full lap of the track as the crowd gave him a standing ovation. Although Redmond was disqualified and listed as "Did Not Finish" due to the outside assistance finishing the race, the incident has become a well-remembered moment in Olympic history.

Actors work hard on their weight
When I work, I keep the TV on in the background. And, my recent thing is I am going through all of the episodes of Comedians in Cars Having Coffee with Jerry Seinfeld. The old episodes just came on Netflix. It is perfect. I don't really have to watch - I keep working. But once in awhile, I'll watch a bit.
Here are two things that came on tonight:
Will Farrell said he weighed 218 and he tries to get to 200. But he has to work out a lot to "get to fat." That is how I feel!!!! It was funny and true!
The next episode was Howard Stern. He wouldn't eat anything. He is drinking hot water. I would never do that!!!

Monday Motivation
What is not to love about Mohammad Ali? LOVE!
This is a great reminder that I need to start exercising. My goal this week is:
1 - talk to Anita about getting back in the gym
2 - start running. I think I will walk with a 10 steps of running every song. That can't kill my knees...can it?
