The JA program got pretty good this week. The first bit was 6 new steps which I sort of did, but I am trying to really bring home.
1 - WEIGH EVERYDAY
2 - journal
3 - Set specific goals that are INSPIRING
4 - Go slow when you eat
5 - Shrink your plate
6 - Drink water.
1 - I already weigh everyday but now I am marking it down.
2 - I use My Fitness Pal to journal and I am on a 175 day journal streak.
3 - I have DOUBLED my fitness goal and my new goal is 2.2 pounds/week or 1 kg/week. That means one year from now I would be at my goal!!!!
4 - I dont go slow but I dont think I go fast either???
5 - I am trying to use little plates
6 - I am incorporating more water but am not measuring at the moment. (drinking as I write this) :)

Being prepared will really help
My food prep has been going pretty good. I am keep cut carrots, celery and fruit in the refrigerator at all times. I also have poached fruit for my morning oatmeal. So, I have been able to be pretty solid for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is the going out that can get difficult.
But...look what I had for dessert at Flower Drum the other day? Isn't this GORGEOUS! The fruit was so sweet and I even tried a fruit that I have never tasted. It is the white one in the top left hand side. I have no idea what it is - they told me but I forgot. It was sweet with a meaty flesh.

Where did June go?
It wasn't that I was off on a binge, I was just working 24 hours a day! But the end of the financial year is this week. My business is doing well. I have submitted my application for Telstra Business Woman of the Year. I have created and delivered my State of the Company presentation in Melbourne last Thursday. I present in Sydney on Tuesday.
Then....everything is back to normal!!!
I already feel so relieved this weekend.
I actually had a good few weeks. This morning I was rugged up for the Tan, although I don't think it is that cold. It is a beautiful 48* today. It is not freezing!
And, yes...I am mixing my sports teams for my walk this morning but you can be a fan of the Packers, Blackhawks and Cubbies!!! :)

So this is how we will roll this winter...
Third weekend in a row and it rains while I am at the Tan. It wasn't too bad today - just really misty.
My goal this long Queen's birthday weekend (how does the Queen get three birthdays and how do I get on that train?) is to get a good workout in every day. This is my only naughty day as I will be having a lovely lunch down at Red Hill. The rest of the weekend should be relatively quiet. So, three workouts. One down, two to go.

Long term success
The Assaraf program concentrated on the following this week for long term weight control:
1 - use a program that is sustainable (no quick fix)
2 - create a lifelong habit
3 - create a healthy obsession
That is great - but they still don't actually give you a diet to follow which is both fantastic and annoying. Prescribed diets don't seem to work in the long term so maybe that is why they only talk about healthy eating.
Creating a healthy obsession is very interesting because I was definitely obsessed when I came back from fat camp and lived in Pt Coo. I was on every day.
Need to think about my priorities.

Sunday Weigh In
More of the samesey - 241.6. I am trying to focus on my wins.
Both yesterday and today I walked the Tan. Yesterday was in the rain with Penny. Today in the cold with Lisa.
I am spending a few hours today just concentrating on my program, planning and working out.
How cute is my new cold weather Nike gear? It was my present for completing all my workouts over the last few weeks.

Devils food
I have gone most of the last sixteen years without onion rings. While I love them, Australians don't serve them as a rule. Unfortunately, they are becoming more popular in the burger bars so I have been ordering them occasionally.
I noticed on my last two orders that I got sick afterwards. My stomach gets extremely achy. I made a decision - no more! I shouldn't be eating them to begin with and they are making me sick.
Yesterday at lunch, the client ordered them for the table. And...guess who ate the most? Of course - ME! And my stomach hurt so badly afterwards, I just keep repeating "remember this feeling". I want to remember how AWFUL they make me feel on top of the fact that they are empty calories and bad for my health and diet.
NO MORE RINGS!!!!

another milestone
I hit 150 days of tracking my food. I am really proud of this but there is no sense in tracking if I am going over on the food constantly. I am going to really try and stay in the 1400-1600 day.

dinner out
I had bookclub tonight and had three little mini wins:
1 - had fish for dinner
2 - skipped dessert
3 - a mini cookie came with my tea. I had a bite. Didn't like it to actually left the bit of cookie!
I thought I made a good decision ordering soup to start but it was very creamy. Also started with a glass of champagne.
The book was great! :)
