99% Is a Bitch - 100% Is a Breeze

I love Jack Canfield and his book "The Success Principles" and one of the principles that keeps ringing true while losing weight is the "99% is a Bitch - 100% is a Breeze." If I allow myself a cheat or a gimme, I find that the cheating becomes continuous.  But, if you give 100%, that is what you get back.

I noticed today that I have been successful with the cookie jar at work. In my old life, I would have had a biscuit with every cup of tea or coffee. I made up my mind that I would never take a cookie, ever and I never have. 100% success.

Watching Biggest Loser

The Biggest Loser Contestants needed to make a promise.
I promise that this is my life and I will not go back to my old ways.

I want to lose weight because:

I want to look hot
I want to wear normal clothes
I want to be more confident in my appearance
I want to be healthier (heart, knees, ankles - NO DIABETES)

Next goal -
4 pounds [2kg] BEFORE Easter!!!!!

MY FRIENDS ROCK!

While I have been losing and up and down, my friends have been doing it for themselves!

Lisa is down 55 pounds [25kg] in 5 months! She looks great! She is exercising like crazy and really watching her calories.

And as of yesterday, Miss Kath is at the lowest weight she has been since she was 16!

Well done ladies - you are inspiring me!

February backlash?

After making it through Feb I am finding it difficult to motivate and I am doing things a bit half/half. I am up about 1.5 pounds [1kg] and am just feeling blagh.
The good news is that I have just booked in to Golden Door with Lisa for Easter - yea us. And have booked with a trainer for a week while I am home for mom's birthday. So, I will keep going. This is going to be a good week.

Boo...

I haven't had a great week - the weather has been in the 90s and so hot. And I have just started to feel my planter facitis come back! Grrrrrr. But, I am on it. Stretching and massaging that calf.  Hopefully I won't let it tighten.

Setting Goals

I read a good article on finding the right motivation by a guy who lost over 120 pounds [50kg].

List the reasons you want to lose weight. Keep adding to the list and include every time your weight stops you from doing something.
Surround yourself with people who will help you lose weight and not reinforce old habits.
Try something new. If your chosen form of exercise is fun, then it's easier to do.
Find a buddy to train with. It's harder to bail on a session if someone else is relying on you.
Make your goals achievable. Small goals will spur you on.
Tell family and friends - they will keep you honest.
Start a new sport.
Vary your training to avoid getting in a rut.
Keep it simple. Eat well and exercise. You're changing your lifestyle not just losing weight.
