Strategies for 5 Holiday Traps


Fat camp had a webinar last week on holiday eating.  Here are some tips they shared:

Bad Habit 1 – Too many sugary and alcoholic drinks
-          Drink your two litres of water/day
-          Drink your carbs OR eat them, NOT BOTH
-          Eat wisely before and after a party
-          Quantity matters – alcohol is liquid sugar
-          Don’t be fooled by diet drinks

Bad Habit 2 – Procrastinating workout
-          Exercise first thing and get it out of the way
-          Every 20 minutes helps

Bad Habit 3 – Being over stressed and emotional
-          Manage stress through exercise
-          Pack snacks to control blood sugar
-          Take time for you

Bad Habit 4 – Consistently lacking quality sleep
-          Finish dinner 3 hours before bed
-          Get great pillows/bed
-          Set a proper bed routine

Bad Habit 5 – Banking & Saving Calories is bad
-          Eat more to eat less
-          Have healthy brekkie and lunch prior to a party
