Do I need more muscle or not????

I think part of EVERYONE'S struggle is the fact that we are told different things by "experts" and then we are told the exact opposite.

Don't eat eggs.
Eggs are great.

Don't eat fat.
You need fat.

Don't eat carbs.
You have to have carbs.

With all I have done the last five years, I consider myself a bit of an expert.  But this new one baffles me.  I have been trying very hard to build up muscle and the trainer here told me I have enough muscle.  I need to do more cardio.

Here at fat camp they use an InBody to weigh you and it gives you a print out of your fat/muscle ration on your body.  (Amongst other things.)  Here is EXACTLY what the detail reads:

"Considering your current body compostion, you could benefit by a decrease of 91.7 pounds of body fat and an increase of 0.01lbs of muscle mass."

It also tells me my BMR is 1602 calories.

So, do I trust what this readout says, or...do I keep concentrating on strength training back home?
I am really stumped by this one!!!!

Cheesy goodness

I know I have talked about healthy pizza before but the pizza here is PHENOMENAL!  And I figured out why - it is the asiago cheese.  It is so tasty.  To the best of my knowledge, we don't have it in Australia.

Australians....where can I find it?????

My pizza recipe is a tortilla in the oven so it bakes just a bit (2-3 minutes).
Take it out and add sauce and toppings.
Pop back in for about 6-10 minutes.  Just to the cheese gets melty.
YUM-O!

I MUST find the asiago cheese.
Dinner was tomato and bacon pizza with berry sorbet for dessert.

DELICIOUS!

Great cooking demo and ANYONE can make the things that were made today. The first one I will make for Andrew is steak because that is his favorite.  It was steak shish kabob with a mushroom, onion and feta stuffed tomato.  It took 15 minutes and was AMAZING!!!!!!

This is the new dessert which I hope we are getting tonight (fingers crossed).  It is turtle pie.   A light graham cracker crust, pb2 with yogurt with choc drizzeled on top and nuts.  YUM-O!!!!

Back into the swing of things

I'm lucky that an old friend of mine, Sherry, is here so that will make my two weeks a little bit more enjoyable.

I said this time I wouldn't put any predefined notions of a weigh out weight on my goals sheet but I can't get past trying to get to 12 pounds.  Since I only lose about 4-5 pounds per week this does not seem doable, but it is in my head.  Grrrrr....

Today started off with a great walk and look who I found out there in winter - desert hares.  They did not move one breath.  Look at those big ears peeked up to listen!  They were gorgeous.

Food has been great.  Lunch today was tortilla soup and a tostada.  Yum-o.  A great trick is to put fresh veg on top of the soup.  Makes it pretty, hearty and more flavorful.  I must remember the tostada as it was delicious.  I think tonight is steak skewer. mmmmmmm.......

Back to prison...I mean fat camp

Not many diary entrees while on holiday.  One because I zoned out a bit.  I wasn't particularly naughty, but just really enjoying my holiday.

I was pretty good the first week.
The only non counting was this past weekend of movies, friends, NYE.

I have to go weigh in in a few minutes.
1 - Goal - two weeks - 10 pounds.
2 - Try a new class
3 - Be consistent with my walks.
4 - Go onto elliptical or rower for extra calorie burn.
5 - weights every day

It is so cold!!!!!!!

I can not complain about Melbourne winters anymore.  You can not go outside when it is -15* for a walk.  It is crazy!  You can but I won't.  According to Fitbit I got about 1000 steps all day yesterday.

Let's see how I go.

Challenges - tonight I have dinner in greek town.  This is awesome because I don't like Greek desserts.  I'll have chicken and pita.  Very happy with that.
Tomorrow....Blackhawks game.  Hmmmm.
I think we will go out to dinner instead of eating at the stadium so that should provide some good choices.  I am not going to drink so I have to think about what I want to do about that.

Sunday Weigh In

Per usual, if I go to fat camp....I will average a weight loss of 5 pounds per week.  This was a short week for me.  I weighed in Monday morning and Friday morning and I am happy to report that I lost 4.9 pounds!  This puts me at 250.2.

So, my goal over the next two weeks and during the holidays is to lose .3 pounds!  This means I go back to fat camp in the 240s and POSSIBLY leave for Australia in the 230s.  I would be out of my freakin mind!!!!!!

Last night I made xmas cookies with the girls.  I had one.  In the past, this would have been a half dozen.

Very happy with my week.
